Bridget Wolfe of Fairy Woodlands – Interview

by The Oracle on July 20th, 2011

Live from Faerieworlds 2011

Bridget, Bridget, Bridget…
“Are faeries real?” That’s the question you get asked most often? You might as well ask, “Are humans real?” I have my doubts there, let me tell you. Some questions don’t need askin’; questions like, “Do I want another drink?” or “Do you think I look fat?” But, other than that, which I hold no foul to Miss Bridget here for havin to answer, she really seems to me to be one of them smarter pasties. I’ll even go as far to be polite and call her by her proper human name, Miss Wolfe. She was kind enough to let me sleep one off in one of her Fairy Woodland houses. I’m tellin’ you, the lap of luxury that is. (more…)

Kristen Wants to Know: What are You Wearing?

by The Oracle on July 10th, 2011

Dearest Kristen,

I have literally spent days pondering your question! Oh, can there ever be just ONE item that represents me? I’m nearly hysterical over making such a decision! You see, my first thought is to pick my lovely, sparkling, gossamer wings, as I simply wouldn’t be a faerie without them. But that simply wouldn’t be fair to all my fabulous acuterevants since I was born with wings, but have personally chosen everything else I wear. And your fashion choices really do say so much about you, don’t they? And I have to choose just one, you say? Oh, frogs-bottoms, I simply can’t! From my berry faerie crown aglisten with dewdrops, to my baubled and belled booties and everything in between, they all work together to say, “Here is Calliope Petalbottom… twinkle, twinkle!” (more…)

Frenchy and The Punk & The House of Cards

by Arasafin on July 7th, 2011

Why is it when I drink too much I always see a bunch of steampunk musicians sitting around drinkin’? Do you think that when they drink too much they see blue faeries like me sitting around drinkin? House of Cards is the latest video from Frenchy and The Punk, formerly known as The Gypsy Nomads. After listenin’ to the new music I have to say, different name; same great music. The first thing you feel when their music starts is an irresistible need to tap yer feet and nod yer head. It’s also entirely impossible not to smile with a bit of an impish grin. (Even for you non-imps out there). Quirky, stylish and downright fun! That’s all I got to say.

The chunky guitar has just the right tone to compliment the music without over powering it. Frenchy’s dark voice, with a bit o’ trill, could easily have droned on in a lesser singer, but her performance and subtle nuances bring out the song’s magic. I would highly recommend listening to their other tunes such as “Yes, I’m French” or better yet see them live.

Although I’m a fan of honey mead, I would suggest sitting back with friends and a nice sherry or port, and enjoying a splendidly tipsy evening with Frenchy and the Punk. www.FrenchyandThePunk.com

I want to thank a certain Absinthe Faerie (Katie Lennon), who can be seen drifting through the background of the video, for bringin’ the music to my attention.

Is Using A Minotaur To Gore Detainees A Form Of Torture?

by The Oracle on July 2nd, 2011

Oh, here we go now. You know the void is growing thin when the fae are featured on the pasties’ nightly news. What’s next, Faerie Unreality TV? “Faeire Housewives of Middle Earth”? I’ve ‘ad about enuff of this troll dung!
Listening to these pasties go on and on about the should we or shouldn’t we of keepin’ a minotaur as a pet is makin’ me ears sting. The First Rule of the Realm; Minotaurs are basterds! Second Rule of the Realm; Same as the first! Now I don’t have a problem with them pasties throwin’ each other into a giant labyrinth to see what comes out the other end. I’d tell them if they go in, just drop breadcrumbs behind them to find their way out, but that only works in fairytales. (more…)

Why You Never Let Drunk Faeries Interview Drunk Faeries

by The Oracle on June 27th, 2011

Thanks to Ms. CopperTop Amy Baker for being our on the spot F-Reporter.

Dear Matt,
I’ve never been one to be seen consorting with pasties, but you, sir, are a credit to yer species. First off, I’ll have whatever you’ve been drinkin’. Now, let’s get down to the mud and grub of yer question. Minotaur or Satyr? Hmmm, well when it comes to a little bit of the rumpy-pumpy as you say, I’ve always considered a Satyr to be kind of a Minotaur with training wheels. You don’t want to be starting out with no big lady Minotaur unless you’re pretty confident in yer masculinity. (more…)

We’ve Returned From The FaerieWorlds and All We Got Was a Lousy T-Shirt?

by The Oracle on June 21st, 2011

Greetings all! We have returned home to the castle after several days of wine, revelry and very suspicious muffins. The Faerieworlds festival was a wonderful event filled with some incredible music. What a great way to share our world with the humans. I have been told that Arasafin & Orla shot plenty of video to share with the Realm, and as we all know; what happens in Faerieworlds, DOESN’T necessarily stay in Faerieworlds. You shouldn’t mix alcohol, mushrooms and nudity is all we’re saying.
Once sufficient recovery time has passed, we will post all that’s fit to post and some that’s not. So please return soon. In the meantime, please watch some of our other videos posted on our site, or feel free to send us your video or youtube link.

J. Corsentino’s Time of the Faeries Photoshop Breakdown

by The Oracle on June 13th, 2011

J. Corsentino from Time of the Faeries shows the Realm a little bit of what it takes to create the incredible images that float through his mind. He breaks down one of his latest creations step by step, layer by layer in Photoshop.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Dear J.
Although I feel it is completely unrealistic to believe that Photoshop can create enough layers to adequately represent a true faerie, I do appreciate a good touch up and makeover from time to time. However, I have serious issues with the smoking. No self-respecting faerie should ever smoke, except of course, for Fire Faeries, but they can’t help it. That said, Nix is a beautiful faerie and your work is truly inspiring. Every faerie should have wings such as hers. As for the attire, I tend to lean toward the pinks and lavenders myself, but alas, to each their own I suppose. (more…)

Ik the Troll King – A Tasty Question (Repost)

by The Oracle on May 22nd, 2011

REPLIES TO THE TROLL KING’S QUESTION ARE BELOW
PLEASE ADD YOUR COMMENTS IN THE SPACE PROVIDED

Dear Ik the Troll King,
I too love children. None of the organic tofu ones either, it’s the real deal or nothin’ I always say. Perhaps humans have never tried a slow roasted waif, marinated in a lemon pepper sauce. Or the joys of a chopped child salad with goat cheese, in a mild balsamic vinaigrette.
That being said, it is, as you say, apparently frowned upon in the human society to eat children. Spanking is permissible in non-public venues, however biting, chewing, tasting, nibbling, noshing, snacking and all around devouring of the little buggers is a big pasty no-no. In my observations, humans have a high moral ground that they like to perch themselves upon. It’s from this height that they fail to see what’s actually happening on the ground below, or even below the ground, to those dwarves who may be reading.
There’s a great human quote, which seems pretty smart for a sub-species. It goes, “We can’t go around measuring our goodness by what we don’t do, by what we deny ourselves, what we resist, and who we exclude. We’ve got to measure goodness by what we *embrace*, what we create… and who we include.” ~ from the movie “Chocolat”
I would have to add to that, “by who we eat.”   (more…)

Send Your Faerie Confession

by The Oracle on May 21st, 2011

FAERIE CONFESSIONS: What is a faerie confession? Have you been a bad faerie? Maybe you’ve gone astray (or you just might be having a bad hair day) but you just have to tell someone! Perhaps you’re a good faerie with a secret to share. Send an email or upload a video and confess, confide, or confirm, declare, disclose or divulge, clarify, certify and testify, attest, manifest and protest, insinuate and intimate, buzz, whir and whisper all things faerie!

Aiden Wants to Know Hidden Faerie Secrets

by The Oracle on April 21st, 2011

Now Aiden,
Let’s just set aside the cuteness factor here and get to the more important point. Do you know you have a dragon on your shoulder? That’s kind of dangerous and irresponsible if you ask me. Now, I’m not one to preach norms of behavior, but walkin ’round with a dragon on your shoulder is askin’ for trouble. Didn’t yer folks teach you that dragon droppins have been known to burn their way right through one of those Obi-wan cloaks, even if it has been enchanted. I won’t even talk about their breath.
